About Blaze
Blaze. Age: 1 year as of 8/2024 Blaze along with his three sisters and mother were rescued by Miss Pat from a home garage in Irvington that was about to be torn down. They went into foster care and have been blooming and showered with so much love. While mostly ginger with some white spots, he looks very much like his mom and is very much a mama's boy. His foster says Blaze's handsome face reminds him of a young Pumba from The Lion King movie. His eyes are a gorgeous pale yellow that the camera doesn't truly capture. Blaze is always among the first to meet people at the door. He is usually brave although he sometimes will hang back and be cautious. Blaze is friendly, greets his foster at the door, rubs up against him, and will either lie down next to, or under, the foster's chair. However, if anyone tries to pet him, he will swat at them. His foster is being patient and diligent to work on socializing Blaze to accept petting. Blaze is also protective of his mom and sisters, so if he is nearby when others are being petted, he may attempt swatting. A red laser, green feather wands, toy mice, plastic springs, and a cat tree are his favorite stimulation. When he sees the foster's resident cats through the pet gate, Blaze is curious although indifferent towards them and shows no sign of aggression. Away from his family and with time and proper introduction, we believe he will get along with other cats. He has not had any exposure to children or dogs although he socializes equally well with other adults including pet sitters. Blaze is FIV/FELV (-), up to date on vaccines and neutered.
