About Zoey Rae
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Zoey Rae is a loving and affectionate Rottweiler who is currently being fostered in Illinois. If you are within Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin, transportation can be arranged to bring this sweet girl to her forever home. She thrives on human companionship and bonds closely with people, showing her playful side and youthful spirit despite being 8 years old, as verified by her vet records. Having previously lived with children, she's generally good with kids but may unintentionally knock over small children who aren't used to a bigger dog like her. Toys are her absolute favorite, and she'll entertain herself with them for hours, often giving back the toy when she's ready to share in the game. She's calm in the house, doesn't chew on inappropriate items, but might explore the counters if given the chance. Zoey Rae is fully house trained, uses her crate politely when needed, and especially loves cuddling on the couch with her humans. Dedicated playtime and positive reinforcement have helped her master commands like "drop it" and "let go," and she is eager to trade when something enticing ends up on the floor. Her only mild challenge is a chicken allergy, which is easily managed with proper food and treats—she tolerates beef and cheese well. Bathing and grooming are no issue for her, making her a wash-and-go friend after farm adventures! She does require a muzzle at the vet during exams out of a bit of discomfort, but is otherwise cooperative. In the car, Zoey Rae relaxes and enjoys the ride—though she may get animated by fascinating reflections or squirrels outside. She doesn't react much to cows and has mild curiosity about cats, but her foster parents feel she's not likely cat-compatible. Zoey Rae can be territorial over food and toys, so it's best if she is fed separately and primarily plays with her toys alone. She does well with a laid-back male dog after slow and structured introductions, but not with female dogs. A Rottweiler-experienced home with loving adults or older children will suit her best, as she takes time to warm up and prefers affection on her own terms. Once comfortable, she is wonderfully loyal and will reward her family with endless love and cuddles. Fun fact: Zoey Rae was born on September 17, making her a Virgo! Virgos are known for their loyalty and big hearts, and she certainly lives up to her sign. Let's make it official, apply to adopt!
