About Garnet
Garnet has survived more than most dogs ever face. When his home burned down on December 27, 2022, Garnet suffered severe burns across most of his big mastiff body. Recovery was grueling—six months of round-the-clock burn ointments, pain medication, antibiotics, and even forced feeding while his throat healed. Those early days were excruciating, and nobody expected Garnet to pull through. But he did. He’s now left with thin-skinned, hairless patches that still need a little extra care—occasionally these spots can bleed if bumped or rubbed. But that hasn't touched Garnet’s gentle nature. He’s sweet, loyal, and gives his trust readily despite everything. Garnet weighs in at 170 lbs with a classic fawn coat and black mask. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His birthday, September 17, 2020, makes him a determined Virgo, and it shows in his resilience. Not only did he survive, but when the fire broke out, Garnet protected the other dogs from harm—acting as both guardian and shield. Now he’s steady, affectionate, and ready for a place where he can soak up calm days and lots of love. Garnet is in Sardinia, OH and waiting for a family that will truly see what a miracle he is.
