Also known as albino Huskies, they are generally friendly, gentle, playful, and high-energy. Why spend hundreds of dollars when you could rescue this beautiful shelter dog in need of a good home? Meet Sparrow! He is a resilient 4-year-old male of medium build from Cranston, RI. He’s come a long way after being abandoned, but with staff, volunteers, and trainers working steadily and lovingly with him, he was able to shed much of his distrust of humans. Still wary when meeting new people, you’ll see what a loyal and loving dog he is once he gets to know you. Sparrow is a match for outdoorsy people because he loves anything to do with being outside. Running, playing, hiking, or just hanging in the yard, fresh air seems to feed his soul. No surprise that he is at home in the cold, snowy weather. He ’s also a good traveler and good on leash. Two dedicated volunteers work with him for several hours daily. He is very smart and eager to learn. He enjoys boisterous playtime with other dogs and would love a compatible sibling. Sparrow still needs confidence building and would thrive with a doggy role model who has a steady presence. Sparrow has been in the shelter for more than a year and is most deserving of a loving home. Imagine being cooped up for days on end and you’ll understand why Sparrow is anxious and reactive when inside his kennel. Each day, Sparrow moves further away from his past, but he still needs a patient, experienced adopter who will give him all the time he needs to feel secure. Sparrows ideal family will give him: A daily routine with adequate outdoor time and exercise.
