COURTESY POST FOR PRIVATE OWNER Move over Frank, there's a new chart-topping rock star in town! Meet Zappa! This 6-year-old male has a contagious smile and endearing personality. His handsome looks are surpassed only by his sharp mind, adoration of snuggles, and deep loyalty to his humans. Zappa enjoys basking in the sun, doing training and tricks (wait till you see his response to “where’s your belly?”!!!), and ending his day with ample couch cuddles. All he wants is to bring joy to his dearest people and be the best boy. Sometimes other dogs and cats get in the way of his purpose in life, so Zappa prefers being an only pet. He would love a home with a fenced in yard or one in a rural setting. He is happiest being with adult humans. Though beloved by his current family, they very sadly need to rehome Zappa because he is not a match for their young child, which is not uncommon for his breed types. They are hoping for a loving person or couple to recognize how special he is and provide him with a new home. While Zappa loves being right near his humans when they are home, he also enjoys quiet time alone. And speaking of quiet… Zappa’s arch nemeses are fireworks and other loud sounds (probably thanks to those big beautiful ears!) so he would appreciate adopters who also enjoy a quieter pace of life. Zappa has many qualities of a good companion and house mate. He is house trained, leash trained, non-destructive, up to date on all vaccines, neutered, and weighs a healthy 55 pounds. While there is no adoption fee, we ask for a donation of $50-$200 be made to the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association.
