About Bolt

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Bolt has shown true resilience after spending significant time as a stray, enduring hardships including being injured on the streets. Taken in from a high-risk shelter after being seen and cared for over time, Bolt is now searching for a forever home. His difficult past has made him cautious, particularly around men, so he’s best suited for a female adopter or a single woman who can provide patience and understanding. While Bolt has enjoyed canine companionships, introductions with other dogs should be managed thoughtfully—he tends to do best with friendly dogs and may not be comfortable with intact males. He’s not suited for homes with children or cats. With those he trusts, Bolt truly shines. He’s house trained, quiet, non-destructive, and loves his toys as much as basking in the sun in a privacy-fenced yard. Bolt is easy to manage, knowing basic obedience and kennel routines. Now a grateful and gentle older pup, he’s low maintenance and ready to enjoy his next chapter in a peaceful home. Currently, Bolt is heartworm positive but being treated at the rescue’s expense, and he’s already neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines and preventatives. Bolt is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but can be adopted anywhere in the United States. Any potential adopter should be willing to meet with Bolt a time or two to help him warm up. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Bolt

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Siberian Husky/Pit Bull Terrier mixes do best in homes with secure, high fences and plenty of outdoor space. They thrive with active families or individuals who can provide regular exercise and mental stimulation.

This mix benefits from a sizable, securely fenced yard to run and play, along with daily walks or outdoor activities. Apartment life may not be ideal unless their energy needs are fully met with exercise.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

While both Siberian Huskies and Pit Bulls can be good with children when properly socialized, their mix may have a high energy level and strength that is better suited for homes with older children or adults who can manage active play and appropriate boundaries.
