About Mario
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Meet Mario! This lively lab mix is passionate about one thing: squirrels. Whether he’s watching them, chasing them, or dreaming up his next squirrel adventure, Mario is always eager for a walk or a romp in the yard. His quick wit means he learns new things in a snap, and his goofy personality ensures laughter every day. Mario thrives on routine and is always happiest when spending quality playtime with kids, especially those who enjoy a good game. He’s polite with other dogs but is still mastering his greeting skills, and is quite curious about cats, even if the feeling isn’t always mutual. Mario is soft-coated and, while he sheds quite a bit, he loves being brushed. At about 45-50 lbs, he’s a manageable size and would love a home with a fenced yard to keep his adventurous spirit safe—he needs to stay leashed or secured outside. Crate and potty trained, Mario knows his basic commands and responds well to gentle handling. He forms strong bonds with his humans, can be sensitive to raised voices, and benefits from a consistent routine. Mario's playful nature and enthusiasm sometimes make him a bit high-strung, and he can be quite vocal, especially when he spots a squirrel or the mailman. He would do best in a family with older kids who can help him stick to routines and keep doors secure, and he shines when given the attention he craves. Born on May 20th, Mario is a spirited Taurus—just like his star sign, he’s loyal, persistent, and has a stubborn streak when something piques his interest! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
