About Rosie

Rosie is a Siberian Husky/Shiba Inu mix with a true survivor’s story—and a stubborn streak that will make you smile. Nicknamed after the Wild Rose of Alberta, Rosie spent her first years outdoors, mostly ignored, and was so shaken she nearly gave up in the shelter. She's since learned what love looks like and, although still shy and easily startled, she is slowly finding her own pace with the help of patient foster care. Rosie is deeply loyal and needs adult adopters who can respect her boundaries, as she’s quite afraid of children and does best in a calm, predictable setting. She bonds well with gentle, confident dogs and perks up when she has a canine friend to follow. If you want to see Rosie happy, watch her sprint around or chase after a squirrel—her playful side emerges when she feels safe. She loves belly rubs and would rather snuggle on her own terms than follow a long list of commands. With consistent, gentle handling, Rosie will continue to blossom into a warm, silly companion.
