About Carbone

Carbone is a striking black Lab and pit mix with a warm, goofy nature that quickly wins people over. He loves to eat, play, and spend time with his people—food motivation and his affectionate side are both readily apparent. Carbone is always up for a game of fetch or a walk, though he’s not quite mastered good leash manners yet and will do best with someone who has the time and patience to work with him. Social both with people and other dogs, he does best with dogs who enjoy an energetic play style. His ideal home has children age 7 or older who understand he tends to get a little rough and rowdy in play and may knock younger kids around by mistake. Carbone had a tough start, found as a stray trying to figure things out on his own. Even so, he’s resilient—timid in new situations at first, but quick to come around once he realizes he’s safe. He does have a habit of breaking out of crates when left alone, simply because he hasn’t learned to view them as safe places yet. With positive reinforcement and patience, he’s likely to get more comfortable over time. If you’re looking for an active, loving dog who just needs a little help settling in, Carbone is ready for a second chance at a real home. Your patience will be rewarded tenfold with his loyalty and big-hearted affection. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
