About Papillon

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Meet Papillon, an 8-month-old boxer/terrier mix with a lovely yellow-tan fawn coat, currently weighing in at about 40 pounds. After being left behind by his previous owner, Papillon arrived feeling scared and shy of new experiences, but with the comfort of canine friends, he is learning the world is not such a scary place. Because new things and people can make him anxious, Papillon is best suited for an adult-only home that can offer the patience and understanding he needs to bloom. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would feel safest with a resident canine companion to help build his confidence. Though he finds chasing cats entertaining, it isn’t reciprocated—so a no-cat home would be best. Leash walks outside of familiar territory can be overwhelming for Papillon, so a securely fenced yard is a must to keep him safe as he learns. This playful, still-chewy puppy is improving in house training and crate practice, and would love a family devoted to teaching him the ropes of being a happy, secure dog. Papillon is being fostered in Frederick, Maryland. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
