About Pepita
This could be the start of something paw-some. Meet Pepita, a tiny four-pound Chihuahua with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Initially, Pepita was terrified after being rescued, needing gentle patience and plenty of space to allow her to decompress and start to trust again. Over time, she transformed from a ball of fear into a loyal companion, prancing to greet her loved ones and showering them with kisses. Pepita is happiest when soaking up the sunshine outdoors or enjoying meal time—her missing bottom jaw and deformed front leg don’t hold her back from living life to the fullest. She loves running and playing in the yard and is quick to clean up any leftover food, including her foster siblings’ bowls! Pepita does well with other dogs and cats, though she values her personal space and prefers sharing a bed over close encounters. She is house trained and potty pad trained, and although she gets a bit nervous during car rides and hasn’t spent much time on a leash, her affectionate and loyal nature shines through with those she trusts. While she may bark when new people enter the house, Pepita warms up once she knows they’re friends. She’ll need a gentle adopter who can offer some time and patience for her to settle in and continue leaving her past worries behind. Fun fact: With a birthday in early November, Pepita is a Scorpio, which might explain her fiercely loyal and spirited personality! Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Pepita

Chihuahuas typically thrive in indoor settings, whether it's an apartment or a house. They enjoy cozy spaces and can adapt well to various home environments as long as they're kept warm and secure.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahuas require only a small amount of outdoor space for bathroom breaks and playtime. They are well-suited to homes with small yards or access to safe, grassy areas.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahuas can do well in homes with respectful, older children who understand how to be gentle with small dogs. Because of their size, they can be easily injured by rough play from young children.
