About Uzu
Uzu, pronounced 'Woo-joo,' means 'universe' in Korean—a fitting name for this gentle 3-year-old Korean Mastiff mix. Currently thriving in foster care near Long Island City, NY, Uzu stands out with his large frame, calm manner, and deeply affectionate personality. He’s still learning to trust new situations and people but makes steady progress every day. Uzu enjoys slow-paced walks and delights in sniffing his surroundings. Once he feels safe, his playful side comes out, showing off zoomies and silly bows to those he trusts. Food is a big motivator for him, especially treats like bananas and sweet potatoes. He gets along well with other dogs in calm, structured settings and would do best in an adult-only home where he can settle in at his own pace. Uzu’s ideal adopter has an active lifestyle but understands the value of patience and support for a sensitive soul. In-person meet-and-greets are available in NYC, with virtual options for out-of-area adopters. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
