Bojangles and his brother named Luke Skywalker were found as strays by county animal control. They were transferred to us on 6/13/25. Bojangles is slightly larger and has white under his neck. He is on the left in the photos. At the time they came to us, we estimated them to be about 1 year old. Bojangles weighed 49 lbs and Luke Skywalker 41 lbs. Both dogs are silly, energetic and full of life. Luke, the one on the right is a bit more passive letting Bojangles take the lead on things. They can be adopted separately or together. They look and act like Black Mouth Curs but could also be partially several other breeds mixed together. Black Mouth Curs are silly, loving, and ready for anything. They make excellent guards dogs, or herding dogs, but also wonderful couch buddies, travel companions or playmates. They love their people and are perpetually in a good mood! They are tough, hearty canines usually with no health issues and lifespans of 12-16 years. They usually have a high prey drive though so are likely to chase and run off small animals. They love to be protective over kids and family grounds and are working dogs who like a job and/or a fair amount of exercise.
