About Jake

Jake’s an easygoing boy with a gentle spirit. He came into rescue after being kicked and, for a while, couldn’t walk on his back legs. These days, Jake gets around just fine and is fully house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. He enjoys watching the household activity and has a calm, dignified way about him. Every now and then, he breaks out of his stoic shell and gets the urge to run or play hard—he still has his playful moments. Jake does well with other dogs and kids, but he isn’t a match for a home with cats. His short brindle coat makes upkeep simple, and his large frame brings a reassuring presence to the room. He is already neutered and up to date on his vaccines. Born July 10, Jake is a Cancer—these dogs are known for being loyal and intuitive. He’s overcome hardship, but he keeps his trust in people.
