About Dax
Dax is a big, 7-year-old German Shepherd Dog looking for a new place to settle in. He’s neutered, current on vaccines, and fully house trained. Dax tends to be a bit shy at first, especially with new people, but give him time and – ideally – a little cheese, and he’ll warm up quickly. He enjoys being outdoors, with sunbathing sessions on the deck topping his list of favorite activities. Car rides and walks are also high on his agenda, and once he trusts you, he’ll even try to curl up in your lap. He’s had plenty of practice being around other dogs and usually enjoys their company. Dax gets along best with male dogs, though he doesn’t always pick up on cues when another dog wants space. He’s less interested in female dogs after introductions, so he could also thrive as a solo pet. Loud environments or tight apartment living aren’t for him—he’s vocal when he doesn’t want to be in his kennel and prefers room to explore. Bath time isn’t his thing, and he’ll make that clear, but his foster is working on it. Dax would do best in a kid-free home or with older children who understand when to respect his space.
