About Zoe

Zoe and her brother Buster came in as strays to the Newark animal shelter, but avoided euthanasia when a rescue stepped in. Zoe is a large, gray and white domestic shorthair mix. She isn’t socialized and isn’t comfortable around people or with being handled. Because of her temperament, Zoe would do best as a working barn cat rather than a traditional house pet. Right now, she's living with her brother indoors at a foster home, though she isn't adjusting to inside life. As a barn cat, she’ll need daily food, water, and shelter, but she’s content to keep her distance. Zoe is spayed and current on her vaccinations, which makes her care straightforward for anyone hoping to add her to a barn or working cat program. She does fine living around other cats. Questions about Zoe

Domestic shorthairs don’t require outdoor space by default, but for an independent cat like Zoe, access to a safe barn or outbuilding is ideal.

Most domestic shorthair cats can do fine with children, but Zoe is not socialized and is better suited to environments without direct human interaction.
