About Maisie
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Maisie is a spirited, young Black Mouth Cur/Shepherd mix who simply loves adventure and playful companionship. She's an energetic girl who thrives when playing with medium and large dogs, especially those that can keep up with her lively play style. With a strong prey drive, Maisie would do best in a home without cats or small pets. Her enthusiasm sometimes leads her to misjudge her size, so she'd fit well with older children capable of handling her exuberance—she may unintentionally knock over smaller kids during play. Maisie adores exercise, hikes, and zooming around outside, and she lights up at the chance to ride in the car! Athletics and mental challenges are definitely her forte. Maisie is whip-smart and quick to pick up commands, knowing several directions and hand signals already. She enjoys mental puzzles and will concentrate deeply to solve them. While she's still working on fully communicating her needs for potty time versus hunger, she's mostly house trained, with occasional accidents. Maisie does resource guard her food with other dogs but is quite gentle with people and patient when taking treats. Slow to warm up to strangers, Maisie blossoms with patience and treats—the more trust she builds, the more affectionate she becomes, rewarding her family with snuggles, belly rubs, and her loyal companionship. Though she's comfortable sleeping in a crate, she'd much prefer snuggling up in bed or napping contentedly at your feet. Maisie has all the makings of a loving, devoted family member for those seeking an active, intelligent, and affectionate companion. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
