About Hazard
Hazard is a striking large male Shepherd in Marietta, OH, with a blond short coat, intense dark brown eyes, and those signature oversized Shepherd ears. He came to the rescue with his friend Moose, a Mastiff, after being surrendered by their previous owner. These two have been close for years and share a suite at the shelter, relaxing on their own patio and sticking together through all the changes. Hazard is a senior—about 10 and a half years old—and weighs in as a fairly big guy. Notably, he had a few lumps removed and was neutered during surgery in early 2025, and his rabies vaccination is current. Hazard does not get along with cats, so a feline-free home is a must. His best chance at a smooth transition is as part of a bonded pair with Moose, since they’ve always lived together. Photos may be from their recent time at the shelter, but staff plan to update them now that both are available for adoption. Hazard was born on October 24th, which makes him a Scorpio—loyal, protective, and a little stubborn. Click apply to start the adoption process.
