About Turk
Turk, short for Turkey, ended up with his name after arriving just before Thanksgiving. He's picking up plenty of nicknames, though you'd have to meet him to hear the sillier ones. Turk has made an impression as both a "serial hugger" and the friendliest dog the vet staff have ever met. He's quick to learn—already knows sit, lay down, and has mastered the art of the paw shake. He even has a pet communication device to help him ask for his favorites, like extra toys and treats. Turk is young and full of energy. He’ll thrive best with a family ready for daily play and plenty of activity. Because of his bouncy enthusiasm, he'd do better with older children—he doesn’t mean to bowl kids over, but sometimes it happens. He’s still nervous around other dogs and isn’t ready to share his home with another pup just yet. Cats? He’s too tempted to chase. What he really needs is a home where he can be the star—a loving, active person or family ready to give him structure and fun. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
