About Etta
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Etta arrived at the Humane Society of Schuyler County after spending time as a stray, displaying her independent and free-spirited nature during her week on the run. While initially finding the shelter environment challenging, she has now shown herself to be a classic shepherd, brimming with intelligence and loyalty. Etta thrives with people she trusts and is protective and wary of new faces, making her best suited for an experienced shepherd family who appreciates her depth and authenticity. Potential adopters are encouraged to visit Etta multiple times to build a lasting bond. She delights in car rides, walks beautifully on the leash, enjoys a good game of fetch, loves squeaky balls, splashing in the creek, and a thorough brushing or warm bath. Etta knows several commands including sit, stay, down, wait, and leave it, and is learning left and right. While she accepts other dogs, she would likely enjoy being the only pet in a peaceful, experienced home so she can truly flourish. She has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies, kennel cough, and DH(L)PP, has been dewormed, tested for heartworm, is up-to-date on preventative care, and is microchipped. Etta will reward patient adopters with steadfast loyalty and heartfelt companionship. Your new best friend is just one click away.
