Harper
AvailableHarper is a 9-year-old, spayed female Chow Chow/Cattle Dog mix with a red/chestnut/orange coat who calls Chattanooga, TN home. She's a senior, but you wouldn't know it from her energy. Harper is house trained, vaccinated, and has been waiting patiently for her forever family.
About Harper
Harper has spent a year and a half with her foster family, making her the longest-staying canine at HES. At 9 years old, this Chow Chow/Red Heeler mix still has an active spirit, and her foster mom describes her as snuggly, affectionate, and happiest when she knows her people are nearby. Harper forms deep bonds with those she trusts, though it takes her a little time to warm up to new faces. When meeting strangers, she’s been known to hide behind her foster mom, but given space and patience, she comes out of her shell and shows her loving, playful side. She enjoys stuffed toys, exploring the outdoors, and tagging along on walks or hikes—she certainly doesn’t act her age. Harper is very food motivated, fully house trained, and would thrive with an active family who includes her in daily adventures. She gets along with other dogs but would also be perfectly content as the only pet. Harper is best suited to homes with teenage children or older. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet. Harper’s looking for someone who’ll give her the time to settle in and let her lovable personality shine. Ready for a companion who just needs the right family to finally call her own?
