Gus
AvailableGus is a large, male Boxer and German Shepherd Dog mix, around 3 and a half years old, sporting a striking brindle coat. Neutered and current on all vaccinations, he’s house trained and has experience living successfully with both dogs and cats. Gus is based in Fairfax Station, VA, and with no special needs at this time, he’s seeking a calm, stable home that matches his gentle but energetic vibe.
About Gus
Gus is what you get when sweetness meets smarts. He’s a big brindle cuddle magnet with a knack for finding the best spot on the couch and rolling gleefully in the grass as soon as the sun comes out. Gus bounced back from knee surgery without missing a beat and now runs and plays without hesitation. He’s happiest surrounded by friends—dogs or cats, it doesn’t matter. Gus’s record for getting along with every dog or cat he meets is spotless, and he’s proven relaxed and affectionate with children as well, as long as the intros are thoughtful and calm (his size and excitement are better suited to older, steady kids). While Gus is the life of the party with other animals, new people are another story. Strangers make him wary, especially at home, and he does best in a place with low guest traffic or with an adopter ready to manage greetings. It’s a process, but high-value treats and slow intros work wonders. He’s reliably housebroken and crate trained—he won’t mind downtime while you’re at work and can handle staying solo for hours without issue. Training is a breeze with Gus—he’s sharp, loves mental challenges, and already knows all the basics (and then some). If you’re experienced, patient, and value a dog who gives every ounce of love to those he trusts, Gus will give it back in spades. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
