About Red
Start your journey together! Apply now. Red is an energetic, 1- to 1.5-year-old, 42-pound coonhound mix who is a bit on the skinny side due to his lively puppy antics. He’s bursting with energy and life, making him a fantastic companion for an active individual, adventurous couple, or a home with another playful, high-energy dog. Red is a fan of long walks, hikes, and spending as much time as possible with his foster family. Even though Red has a high energy level, he is wonderful with the small children in his foster home. As his confidence grows, he delights in playing with toys and chasing balls around the yard. True to his breed, Red’s strong sense of smell sometimes leads him astray—he’s working hard on overcoming counter surfing and improving his leash manners. Currently living with cats, Red does show some curiosity to chase, but generally leaves them alone when they keep their distance. With proper introductions, he may do well in a home with dog-savvy cats. Red is fully vetted and ready to bring happiness to his forever family! Give them the home they have been waiting for.
