About Yuzu

Meet Yuzu! This sharp, spirited girl is about 6–7 months old and brings a ton of love, curiosity, and energy wherever she goes. She has the classic puppy bounce but can just as easily transform into a puddle of cuddles in your arms. Yuzu is one of those rare dogs who genuinely loves everyone—dogs, adults, kids, strangers—she seeks out attention and isn’t shy about asking for it. If you want a companion to take everywhere, she’s eager to be your little shadow and keeps things lively with her fox-like charm and bold personality. At 20 lbs, Yuzu is a "pocket heeler" who will stay on the smaller side. Her double coat is soft, thick, and—fair warning—a bit of a shedder. Around the house, she’s almost fully housetrained, using pee pads if she can’t get outside, and she learns quickly when treats are involved. Training with her is straightforward, though her love of food means you’ll want to watch your pizza. Yuzu's playful mouthiness is pure heeler heritage—she communicates with happy chomps and gentle snaps, so it’s best to know the breed. She loves to be part of the action, but she’s working on crate skills and is happiest with mindful structure and lots of patience. When left alone at first, she can be vocal, but she’s steadily learning her crate is a safe spot. Outdoors, she’s curious and can wiggle through tight spaces—secure fencing and supervision are a must. Yuzu gets along well with other dogs and children, but hasn’t been tested with cats or livestock. She’ll be placed as an indoor pet only and needs an adopter committed to her heeler quirks and smarts. Out-of-state adoptions are possible with the adopter handling transport.
