AvailableWaylon is a large, adult male Pit Bull Terrier with a short brindle, brown, and gray coat. He is neutered, vaccinated, and house trained. About Waylon!
Waylon has been at the shelter in Leon, KS for nearly four years, and staff consider him a favorite. He first arrived after someone found him alone on a rural road—neutered, with a collar, but no microchip or owner ever came forward. He clearly wasn't just lost. The shelter environment stressed him out at first, though over time and with help, he's become more relaxed. Still, it's clear that everything changes for Waylon when he's away from the chaos: he becomes a different, calmer dog. Waylon is excellent with kids and gets along with all people, though his energy can spike on occasion, likely from living in a kennel so long. Staff believe this will improve once he's settled in a home. He does not do well with other dogs or cats, so he needs to be the only pet. It's hard for everyone at the shelter to see such a good dog waiting for years, but they're still hoping someone will see him and decide he's the one. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
