About Riza

Riza spent her first six months in a cage, so she’s still learning what a gentle home even feels like. She isn’t aggressive or mean, but she needs a patient person able to help her gain confidence, especially since new things can be scary for her at first. Once comfortable, Riza loves chasing toy mice, batting at string or lasers, and rubbing her head against your hand for affection. She has a loud, beautiful purr and will settle close to you when she’s ready. She gets along well with kittens, but adult cats or dogs can make her hide, so she’s happiest either solo or with very gentle kitten companions. Starting Riza in a small, safe room and slowly letting her explore is best; hiding places should be limited to build trust and routine. She’s been returned before when other pets made her anxious, so she absolutely needs an understanding adopter ready to move at her pace. Once Riza feels secure, it’s easy to see her playful, sweet personality emerge. She’s been in foster care since early 2022 and is looking for her true forever home. Fun fact: Riza is a Cancer—compassionate and loyal when she feels safe. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
