About Kita
Kita, also known as "Momma Kita," earned her nickname by arriving at the sanctuary just after raising a large litter of puppies. While her pups quickly found homes, Kita took some extra time to recover and get back in top form. These days, she's a volunteer favorite, and it doesn't take long for her to reveal her soft, affectionate side—especially to those she trusts most. You'll often find her zooming up to friends, dropping any pretense just to beg for belly rubs. Kita gets along well with other dogs, confidently guiding younger pups through the play yard routines. She barks plenty in her kennel, true to her Akita mix roots, but she's noticeably calmer and quieter during walks and outings, even around other dogs and people. If you're looking for a nurturing, playful companion who balances loyalty with gentle leadership, stop by to meet Kita. She’s ready to charm her way right into your heart.
