Chip
AvailableChip is a Yorkshire Terrier mix living in Greensboro, NC. He is a small, adult, neutered male with a medium-length, white and cream coat that sheds very little. Chip is house trained and up to date on all vaccinations. He does best as the only dog in the home and needs an experienced adopter who can match his active, intelligent nature.
About Chip
Chip is a 1 1/2-year-old, 10-pound Yorkie mix with a coarse, low-maintenance coat that barely sheds. He’s all terrier—spry, nimble, and always looking for action, so you’ll want to keep a close eye on outside doors. Chip gets attached to his primary person, especially women, but he’s a little slower to warm up to men and relies on patience and a calm approach to settle in. He’s comfortable in his crate and knows how to keep himself amused with toys. Chip barks when there’s something worth barking about (true to the breed) and thrives with someone who’s eager to train and keeps him mentally engaged. He’ll do best as the only dog in your home and isn’t a fit for busy, multi-dog households. Chip needs an experienced adopter—someone patient, willing to let him adjust on his own timeline, and dedicated to ongoing training and enrichment. An all-adult home with a securely fenced yard (minimum 4 feet, no gaps or shared fencing) is non-negotiable. If that’s you and you’re in the Carolinas, Virginia, or East Tennessee, Chip’s waiting in Greensboro, NC. Start your journey together! Apply now.

Questions about Chip
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chip, as a Yorkie mix, thrives in indoor environments where he can feel secure and connected to his person. He needs a home that can offer him daily engagement, structure, and safety, especially around entryways, due to his quick reflexes.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Yorkie mixes like Chip generally need a small to moderate amount of outdoor space, but a securely fenced yard is important since he’s an active little guy who may dart for open doors.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chip’s breed is small and active, but since he needs a patient, experienced owner and prefers an all-adult environment, a home without children is ideal for him.
