About Paupau

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Paupau is searching for a calm, low-key household where he can enjoy his golden years. He is a large, mature Labrador Retriever mix around 9–10 years old, now a healthy 60 pounds after an incredible weight-loss journey—with a heart as big as his appetite. Paupau is a distemper survivor, which left him with slightly rough breathing and a need for short, leisurely walks instead of intense exercise, but he is otherwise content and happy. You’ll need to watch his diet, as he’s known for his love of snacks and will attempt to sneak treats whenever possible! He’s housebroken, crate trained, and travels nicely in the car. While friendly with other dogs—currently living happily with three canine companions—he can be reactive with new people, particularly men, when behind barriers like crates. The ideal adopter is experienced and can patiently help Paupau warm up with slow introductions and plenty of treats. He bonds well with teenagers and has lived with young children before, but a household with older kids or teens is recommended. Paupau knows sit, down, and is eager to learn new tricks, especially when food is involved. Once you earn his trust, his tail never stops wagging! Start your journey together! Apply now.
