Mandy was part of a neglect case, was confiscated from owner, and transferred to a local shelter to await rescue. Mandy came to us in pretty poor shape. This sweet girl was significantly underweight and had to be shaved at the shelter due to some major matting, which did not help her emaciated figure. Mandy started out very shy and insecure. She had no interest going outside, possibly because she was forced to stay outside by her prior owner. She's now been in her foster home for a few weeks and has gained almost 20 lb, started to regrow some hair and is no longer afraid to go outside. Mandy's personality is very typical of a Great Pyrenees: sweet, gentle and docile. She loves a good cuddle and will very gently and persistently ask for them. She gets along great with other animals, cats, dogs and birds. She will occasionally surf the counters if the humans forget something irresistible up there! Being fostered in Columbia, MO We think Mandy is about 3 years old. She weighs about 70 lbs, is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.
