About Hickory
Hickory and her sister Doc were found as young cats during a rough winter, at risk outside, so they were brought in for safety. Hickory is reserved by nature and closely bonded with Doc; they need to be adopted together and won’t be separated. These two aren’t the type to seek out laps and cuddles right away—Hickory, especially, prefers her space and hasn’t warmed up to being picked up. They spent time in foster care but still require a bit of patience and gentle socialization. Hickory and Doc will do best with an adopter who’s handled shy cats before and understands that trust takes time. The adoption fee for the pair is $100. Ready to fall in love? Questions about Hickory
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Domestic short hairs like Hickory are adaptable, but she will thrive in a calm, indoor environment where she has safe spaces to retreat and build confidence at her own pace.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Hickory is best kept as an indoor cat, so she doesn't require outdoor space. She'll appreciate windows to look out from and enrichment toys or cat trees inside.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Domestic short hair cats can do well with respectful children, but Hickory is shy and would be best in a quieter home without small kids, where she and Doc can feel secure.
