Rio is equal parts comedy and energy, with a stubborn streak and an appetite for life (and snacks). He’s a 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier, decked out in a short blue and white coat that makes him look like an oversized Oreo—a fact his foster mom doesn’t let him forget. Rio will do just about anything if food is involved, which makes him easy to train and eager to please, though he’s still learning the finer points of table manners and sharing. He’s picking up commands fast and absolutely loves to train, but he’s still not sold on sharing treats or toys, so his adopter will need some patience. Rio loves roughhousing with other sturdy, well-matched dogs, but he’s not a candidate for a home with cats. He’s mouthy, energetic, and sometimes needs feedback from dog companions who can tolerate his antics and help guide him. He’s crate trained, enjoys a zoomie or two, and lives for fetch and tug. Bath time doesn’t bother him, and he’ll occasionally channel his inner couch potato, but mostly, he wants to play and engage with you. Rio does best when given consistent structure, plenty of toys, and room for physical play. His foster mom is a professional trainer and will happily share tips to keep him on the right path. With his floppy ears, freckled nose, and non-stop enthusiasm, Rio will keep you entertained and on your toes.
