About Callie
Callie is a medium-sized Terrier full of enthusiasm and spirit, living in Lee's Summit, MO. At around 3.5 years old and 40 lbs, she's always ready to join the action, whether it's a walk, jog, or a full-on run. Callie does extremely well with children—she absolutely adores them—and happily gets along with other dogs her size, though she'd do best without smaller pets underfoot. Cats don't bother her much, though their antics can catch her off guard. She has a knack for climbing and can clear a chain link fence with surprising ease, so a wood or wrought iron fence, or a commitment to regular walks with her, is key. Callie enjoys being outside and her "zoomie zooms" are something to behold, especially if she has a playmate. She’s still learning to differentiate between dog toys and household items but is picking it up. Training-wise, Callie's made real progress—she’s a K-9 citizenship school graduate who knows sit, shake, lay down, and occasionally obeys a stay command, though that still needs reinforcing, especially around open doors. She is house trained, manages fine in a kennel for short stints, and takes baths and nail trims in stride. Callie does get anxious during fireworks, so she’ll need some extra support during noisy celebrations. She has a particular fondness for morning kibble soaked in water and eats about two cups a day, adjusting as needed based on activity. Callie recently completed heartworm treatment, so year-round prevention is a must. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Ready for someone to keep up with her energy and show her the ropes, Callie’s waiting for the right home. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
