About Clara
Clara is an energetic young pit bull/shepherd mix who loves nothing more than chasing a ball (though she hasn’t quite mastered bringing it back every time). She’s about a year old now and was one of a litter abandoned in a rural yard, but she hasn’t let that dampen her playful spirit or her tail-wagging welcome. She’s happiest around people and will gladly shower you with affection—and plenty of happy wiggles. Clara has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is heartworm negative and on preventatives. She does well with other dogs and children, though she’s still learning the ropes when it comes to basic manners and not jumping up to say hi. She’s house trained with only occasional accidents and is crate trained, but shiny floors make her nervous—they’re still working on that together. Clara is smart and picks up commands quickly; she already knows crate, sit, and how to walk on a leash, but needs reminders not to jump and to mind her manners. She’d love an active family who enjoys outdoor play and has the time to help her grow into a well-mannered adult. If there’s a confident older dog in the home, she might thrive even more, but she’d happily soak up all the attention as an only dog. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
