About Sunflower aka Psych

Sunflower, also called Psych (or just Psy), is an 83-pound female mix of Pitbull, Lab, and Dogo Argentino in Macon, GA. Born April 12, 2023, which makes her an Aries—always eager for action and fun. She lands a strong first impression: tall, powerful, and, at first glance, a little intimidating. Get close, though, and it shifts. All that muscle and bark? It hides a complete softie. She’s happiest with a ball in her mouth, waiting for the next toss; fetch never seems to get old. If you can’t play, she’s glad to wrestle with her canine friends and easily fits into dog packs of all kinds—her favorite playmates are older pit and German Shepherd mixes. Sunflower is crate trained, house trained, and does best with adults or older kids simply due to her size and energy. Her bark is deep, and her whine is shrill, so homes with noise sensitivity may want to think twice. New things can startle her (trash cans and inflatable Santas in particular), but she adapts quickly and is both intelligent and resilient. She loves car rides and outings. Not much for personal space—she’s the definition of a lap dog in a large package. She hasn’t had much exposure to kids or cats but thrives with other dogs. If you want an athletic, affectionate, and playful companion who adapts to change and comes with a big personality, Sunflower may be your answer. Click apply to start the adoption process.
