About Ritchey Roo

This could be the start of something paw-some. Richard, affectionately known as Ritchey Roo, is searching not just for a new home, but for DOG'S BEST FRIEND! The three words that sum up this wonderful companion are exuberant, jubilant, and laid-back. He’s a mellow soul at heart, yet always ready for an adventure, whether it’s a walk outdoors or a cozy snuggle on the couch by your side. Ritchey delights in sharing space with his person—he’s the perfect mix of active and couch potato. With an estimated age of 3-4 years, he’s well beyond the puppy stage but still full of zest for life. He cherishes bedtime snuggles and has even learned to scoot over with a gentle command, proving he’s eager to please and loves being close. Ritchey enjoys long walks and car rides, and when he’s bursting with excitement, a sturdy 6-foot+ fence will be your best friend, as he’s known to clear shorter barriers. While he isn’t much for toys or fetch, he finds joy in running and exploring. In his foster home, he coexists peacefully with a senior dog, paying no mind to her grumbling—hinting that he can be dog friendly in the right circumstances. Having started his journey as a stray, Ritchey briefly found a family, though financial hardship led them to entrust him to rescue when they could no longer give him the meals and care he deserved. Now, Ritchey would thrive with an owner willing to help him shed a few extra pounds he thoughtfully gained in recovery. If you’re ready to share laughter with a goofy yet dignified best friend who inspires joy and loyalty, Ritchey Roo just might be your perfect match. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
