About Bowie
Bowie makes a case for being one of the best foster dogs out there. His gentle giant reputation is well-earned—he’s easygoing, genuinely sweet, and absolutely loves being around people. Housebroken and remarkably well-mannered, Bowie doesn’t get into things he shouldn’t. He adapted quickly to his foster home and was the perfect passenger on the ride out of the shelter. Most of the time, he’s quiet and relaxed, patiently tolerating the antics of his husky foster sister but springing to life when the chance to meet new people or dogs arises. On walks, Bowie gets a little too excited to greet others and may bark or pull, but he’s learning the ropes with “sit” and “wait” as part of his leash skills. He tends to be cautious with men but opens up quickly—in his own way, greeting both men and women with trademark head-rubs he calls hugs. If the temperature rises, so does his need for a break, but on cool days, he likes a backyard hang or a longer stroll, keeping an eye out for squirrels and the occasional bunny. Crate time suits him, but he’s also trustworthy with full run of the house. This wrinkly-eyed mastiff mix (about 85 lbs and estimated 4–5 years old) comes with a worried expression you can’t help but fall for. Bowie gets along with other dogs as well as children.
