About Janis J

Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Meet Janis J, a gentle and sensitive husky mix with soulful brown eyes who is learning to trust and love in her own quiet way. She had limited exposure to people early on, so she can be shy and cautious, but is making progress every day as she discovers the world can be a kind place. Janis is not a cuddler just yet, but once she’s comfortable, she’ll relax nearby and enjoy your calm presence. She’ll thrive in a peaceful, adult-only home with a confident, gentle dog—especially since she is bonded to her brother Jerry, and they need to be adopted together. Their bond provides comfort and support on their journey to flourish as devoted companions. Janis is crate trained and currently working on her housebreaking skills (she’s even mastered the dog door!). Formal training will come with time and patience, especially as she responds positively to encouragement and treats. Because she’s strong and can hop fences, a secure 6-foot fence with a climb guard is required. Additionally, soft toys should be avoided since she tends to shred them; tough toys are the safest option for playtime. Janis loves other calm, confident dogs, particularly her brother Jerry, and gentle playmates are best as pushy, high-energy dogs can be overwhelming for her. She does not do well with cats or children, as loud noises and quick movements can be frightening. Janis is still learning basic commands but thrives on routine and structure. She loves lounging with her brother after playtime, treats, and gentle companionship, but prefers quiet over chaos. Janis J and Jerry are looking for a special adopter ready to help them continue healing with patience and love. With your support, this sweet pair will fill your home with quiet joy and unwavering loyalty. The adoption fee for Janis J has been sponsored, so she and her brother Jerry are ready to start their new chapter together. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
