About Aspen
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Aspen is a resilient and affectionate hound/mixed breed who has overcome incredible adversity. After surviving abuse and even being shot, Aspen now shines as a loving companion who’s always ready to share hugs, kisses, and those classic soulful hound snuggles. His favorite activities include offsite hikes, car rides, and playtime with other dogs—he’s a superstar in playgroups and loves socializing. Aspen adores cuddles and relaxing with a cozy blanket, but also relishes his outdoor adventures. With his past trauma, Aspen thrives in calm, patient environments where boundaries are respected. He’s best suited for an adult-only home or a household with very dog-savvy teens, and will do best where the environment is predictable and gentle. Aspen did well on a shelter cat test, though he’s shown a bit too much excitement in a home setting, so a slow, careful introduction to cats is essential. While he’s smart and enthusiastic about learning, Aspen really blossoms with positive reinforcement and routine. His future family will benefit from the support of a behaviorist to help him adjust to a loving home life. Aspen is vaccinated, neutered, and ready to find his forever family at Friends of Homeless Animals. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
