Kama
AvailableKama is a beautiful adult female boxer mix with short apricot and tan fur, living in Cosby, TN. She’s a medium-sized dog, spayed, and her vaccinations are up to date. Kama is known for being shy and will only thrive in a home with a dog-friendly, larger companion. Her rescue believes she could be housebroken quickly given her tidy kennel habits.
About Kama
Kama has spent over two years in rescue, still searching for the right place to call home. She’s a 3-year-old, timid boxer mix who grew up fending for herself on the streets of Memphis, likely born to a stray mother. Kama spent her early months outside before landing in a shelter, where rescue staff stepped in just in time. Since then, she’s warmed up a little—she’ll accept a brief pet—but remains cautious and needs plenty of patience. Kama finds her courage with another big, dog-friendly companion in the home. She can’t be an only pet, so adopters must already have a large, social dog. A fully fenced yard is required, and she’s not comfortable with leashes, walks, or car rides. This isn’t a beginner dog: expect a slow unfolding with lots of invested time. Kama has not been exposed to cats or small dogs, and due to her shyness, homes with young children are not appropriate. She keeps her kennel clean and will likely pick up house training quickly. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and on preventative medication. The adoption fee is waived for the right home. If you can offer steady routine, patience, and a fenced yard, Kama may finally fit in somewhere safe. Start your journey together! Apply now.
