Jethro is a brown Coonhound/Mastiff mix with a short coat living in fennville, MI. He is a neutered adult male, about 6 years and 1 month old, and is house trained. His vaccinations are up to date, and he has special medical needs. Jethro does best as the only pet and is looking for a family to give him the comfort he missed for so long.

About Jethro

Jethro has lived through things most dogs never face. He spent years outside, forgotten in the Texas heat, until neglect and abandonment finally led to rescue. Now safe in Michigan, he’s relaxed, affectionate, and happiest curled up on a soft couch. Despite a heart murmur and surviving a close call during his neuter surgery (he literally died under anesthesia, but the vet staff brought him back), Jethro stays upbeat and hopeful. He’s heartworm positive, but treatment is covered and continues in his new home—just a slower protocol suited for his condition. This dog has grit and a goofy side, and after everything, he still greets people with a wag and a big heart. Jethro is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on preventatives. He doesn’t get along with cats or other dogs, but he does fine with children and would do best as the only pet. Adopters need an approved application, photos of their home or yard, and must come in person for a meet and greet. Click apply to start the adoption process.
