About Eli

Eli - Black/Brown Tabby, DSH, Male, DOB 10/8/2018 From the foster: Looking for a FurEver home for Eli, 7 years old, Male, neutered brown tabby, not declawed, Felv and Fiv negative, and microchipped. I found Eli as a neighborhood stray in 2020. I posted on Lost Pets and Nextdoor, but no one claimed him. Feline Friendz posted a courtesy listing for me and Eli was adopted to a very nice couple but was returned back to me a year later with kidney issues. Apparently, he had a blockage which had gone unnoticed by the owners which resulted in kidney damage. Eli receives 100ml of IV fluids everyday (he is a champ and takes it very well with a 20G needle -3 mins tops to be administered). He also is on an RX food Purina NF Advanced Kidney Care. I am seeking to rehome Eli, because I have 8 other cats and Eli does not get along with all of them. Because of this, Eli has been segregated in a spare bedroom for 4 years now, and he deserves to have a loving owner that can spend more time with him as my time is divided between two spaces. He needs to be part of a household where he can have more open space to roam instead of confined to a single room. He would most likely do better as an only cat or maybe depending on the personality, one other cat. As I found him as a stray and was used to being outside, he may not be good for a family with small children or dogs as he is a door dasher. Eli has a very big personality!!! He is a lover. Probably, the friendliest cat I've ever met. He wants to be picked up and carried around, wants to sleep in a human’s bed (he is a snuggler and will even lay his head on your pillow), uses a litter box (litter robot trained too. I have recently had a knee surgery and having some difficulty taking care of 9 cats and need help rehoming Eli as he is special needs and I do not have the resources to find a proper home for him on my own. If you are interested in adopting a special needs cat or know someone that would be. Maybe you know a Vet Tech, Veterinarian or someone in a human health care field that would not be intimidated by giving sub cutaneous fluids, although, I would be willing to teach an adopter how to give the fluids (it’s very easy). I purchase the needles on Amazon and for a box of a hundred it’s around $10.00. The food is roughly $60 both last him 3 months or so. ******* Cats/Kittens in care of Feline Friendz are only available in the Immediate Omaha, Nebraska area. We do not ship animals. ******* All cats in the care of Feline Friendz are spay/neutered before they are released for adoption. Please help us with vet bills by donating today! THANK YOU!!
