About Wendel
Click apply to start the adoption process. Wendel's journey from a critical rescue case to a healthy, energetic pup will warm your heart. Found emaciated and covered in wounds just off the roadside, Wendel overcame tremendous odds, gaining weight, healing from his injuries, and recovering fully from both severe anemia and heartworms thanks to devoted care. Now, he's ready to spread his love in a forever home! Wendel is a happy-go-lucky Labrador Retriever mix with a black and white/cream short coat who welcomes everyone with enthusiastic tail wags and plenty of kisses. He adores attention—his foster shares that he could sit for ages just being petted, gazing up lovingly. A natural with chew toys and eager to learn (he’s working on "sit"), Wendel shows remarkable resilience and joy. This lively boy thrives on play and daily walks and must have a securely fenced yard (invisible fences are not accepted) to let off his boundless energy. Wendel would do best with a family committed to teaching him basic commands, giving him plenty of activity, and ideally having older, responsible kids. He enjoys the company of other dogs, but would benefit most from patient training and lots of affection. For local adopters only, all animals, including Wendel, are vet-checked, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered, with a 30-day health guarantee and dedicated post-adoption support. Wendel’s birthday is 6/14/2021, making him a sweet-natured Gemini—expect a sociable and curious companion by your side. Let’s make his next chapter the happiest yet. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
