Weeman
AvailableWeeman is an adult, neutered male American Foxhound living in New York, NY. He sports a short, tricolor black, tan, and white coat, and is known for his friendly but slightly shy character. Mostly house trained, Weeman also responds well to crate training, and he’s up to date on vaccines. Though a bit lean from past hardship, he’s steadily gaining strength in his new environment.
About Weeman
Weeman is a reserved but lovable American Foxhound, around four years old, with a striking black, tan, and white coat. He came from a tough situation, one of several hounds surrendered after his previous owners divorced and lost their home. When he first arrived, he was underweight and unsure, but adapted surprisingly well alongside two of his housemates. Initially, Weeman can be shy with new people, but he eases up quickly when shown patience and gentle touch. He really lights up on walks, sniffing the world at his own pace, and would do best with an active owner or couple who appreciate the unique quirks of scent hounds. Another well-adjusted dog in the home would likely help him come out of his shell and learn the ropes faster. Weeman needs regular exercise—a good balance of gentle leash walks and supervised play—to keep him content and out of trouble. He is house trained for the most part and does well in a crate, but new adopters should be ready for the odd accident as he transitions. He responds well to positive reinforcement and ongoing training, especially when treats are involved, but he can be distractible, so patient guidance is key. This dog is neutered and current on vaccinations. He has a sweet, easy-to-live-with temperament and plenty of affection to give once he feels safe. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
