About Weeman
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Meet Weeman, a handsome and friendly adult American Foxhound who is learning about the world one paw at a time. At four years old, Weeman is part of a group of eight Foxhounds that lost their home in North Carolina due to their owners' divorce and came to rescue with three of his housemates. Although malnourished and uncertain at first, Weeman has adapted smoothly to rescue life, displaying his lovable Foxhound nature. Weeman can be a bit shy initially, but he quickly warms up to gentle affection and thrives on positive human interaction. He would do best in an active home, ideally with another confident, well-adjusted dog to help guide him. True to his breed, Weeman enjoys leisurely leash walks where he can stop and explore with his nose and benefit from plenty of mental and physical stimulation. With his short, flat tricolor coat—mainly black and tan with white markings—Weeman has a sleek, athletic build. He's currently a lean 47 pounds, with the potential to fill out a bit more. Weeman is treat-motivated and enjoys training sessions, though he can be distracted at times and his confidence will continue to grow with ongoing positive reinforcement and obedience work. He has good house manners, is mostly house trained and crate trained, and is accustomed to the occasional accident as he transitions to new surroundings. Weeman is neutered and up to date on vaccinations and health checks, ready for a loving, dog-savvy individual or couple willing to provide structure, affection, and playtime. Adoption is the new adventure! Ready to roll?
