Winston is a 2-year-old Bulldog mix who weighs in at 56 lbs and is finally available for adoption. After a month in the rescue’s care, a few things are clear about Winston. He’s smart, learns quickly, and follows commands well—he’s already mastered heading to his kennel and waiting patiently at mealtime. Toy possessiveness is part of his personality, so he’ll want to keep his favorite toys to himself and may become protective over them. Winston can be around other dogs, but living with them isn’t a fit; the only possible exception is a similarly sized female dog of a similar breed, following a successful meeting. Anxiety in cars is a big challenge for Winston. He gets extremely stressed and has needed medication for even essential trips, like going to the vet. For his well-being, he’s best matched with adopters who don’t plan to take him out in the car much, if at all. Families with small children or other dogs aren’t a match, and the rescue is committed to only placing him where he can succeed. Winston has a lot of energy—daily walks are important to help manage it.
