About Thor
Click apply to start the adoption process. Thor is a striking golden shepherd mix, weighing about 60 lbs and estimated to be around a year old. While he tolerates being crated, he truly comes alive in the play yard, where he enjoys rough-and-tumble games with his canine pals—especially his best friend Tonks. Thor has a passion for playing ball and loves the beach and the great outdoors. His handler noted that, once removed from the shelter environment, Thor relaxed considerably. During outings to the park and beach, his recall and leash manners noticeably improved. Thor showed complete trust by seeking comfort and reassurance from his handler in the presence of unfamiliar or aggressive dogs. He is extremely affectionate, enjoys being petted all over, and adapts quickly with consistent guidance. During his weekend adventure with a volunteer, Thor delighted in snuggling and craved lap time, all while being sweet, loving, and fiercely loyal. He adores fetching balls and sticks, never begs for food, and gets along well with other playful dogs. Thor loves to ride in the car, explore the water, and check on his person throughout their adventures. While he can be protective, especially around unfamiliar men, he responds very well to correction and is crate-savvy. Thor has all the makings of a wonderful adventure partner and a devoted companion, ready to thrive in a loving home that matches his zest for life. Your new best friend is just one click away.
