About Thistle
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Meet Thistle, a special Terrier who has overcome a lot on her journey. Rescued from a backyard breeding situation alongside her pups, Thistle has spent the last year blossoming with her foster family. Though she started off very shy, she has made great progress and now enjoys being close—though she still prefers her independence. She’s not a lap dog but will graciously come up for pets on her own terms. Thistle communicates her excitement with vocalizations, greeting her person energetically at the start and end of each day. Playing fetch with stuffed toys is one of her favorite activities, and she loves her fenced yard where she can enjoy the outdoors and make use of her doggie door. At night, Thistle is content to share the bed, though she'll occasionally move for some solitude. She’s cooperative when it comes to grooming, even during nail trims and professional appointments. Thistle would thrive in a home with a confident dog buddy to help her settle in and feel at ease. Due to her cautious nature, she's not yet leash trained, and she can jump a 4-foot fence, so a secure environment is a must. Though not especially social with children, she coexists peacefully alongside them. Thistle is looking for someone patient and understanding—a person who will appreciate her gentle soul and allow her to become the loyal, devoted companion she was always meant to be.
