About Starkey
Starkey is a small Shih Tzu with a strong sense of his own style and preferences. He prefers things on his termsāwhen it comes to his crate, heāll need some coaxing and reassurance, and while heās pee pad trained, he sometimes has accidents. Starkey loves to plant himself on your lap, soak up rubs, and show his goofy, cuddly side. Donāt be fooled by the tough act; heās really after gentle handling and patient company. He struggles with separation and can nip at your ankles when you leave, so heāll do best with someone who can give lots of attention and understands his quirks. Heās obsessed with toys and loves collecting them, showing off his playful streak. Starkey gets along with other dogs but prefers his space, so heās not a fan of dogs all in his face. Because of his tendency to guard or nip, a home with a fenced yard and older, dog-savvy kids is best. A slow feeder is a mustāhe eats with enthusiasm.
