About Rue

Click apply to start the adoption process. Rue is a one-year-old calico who arrived at the rescue after her previous owner could no longer care for her. When Rue first came, she was extremely fearful and would lash out from her quarantine cage, needing a significant amount of patience and understanding. Over time, she has blossomed into a very affectionate companion with the volunteers, but her future family should be prepared for a similar period of adjustment as she settles in. Like many calicos, Rue has a bit of a "short fuse" and would not be best suited for homes with young children, though older kids who respect a cat's space and attitude would be fine. Rue gets along well with small dogs in her space and doesn't mind sharing her environment with them. She is spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/leukemia, and microchipped.
