Rue is about a year old and arrived after her previous owner was no longer able to care for her. When she first came in, Rue was frightened and lashed out at anyone who came too close to her kennel. With time and patience, the volunteers gained her trust, and now she’s turned into a very affectionate companion with those she knows. Rue still needs a decompression period in a new home, so patience from her next family is a must. She’s true to her Calico temperament: quick to love but quick to show her boundaries, making her a better fit for homes with older children who understand the quirks and sharp edges of “catitude.” Rue tolerates the small dogs in her room and gets along with other cats without much fuss.
