Having been surrendered when a baby came into the home, Wesley has shown a protective streak, especially towards women and female dogs, though he’s never displayed resource guarding behaviors with people in our care. He has made significant progress since arriving at Como, transitioning from limited dog interactions to happily playing with his pals. While he's still a little shy around male dogs, his confidence is growing and he remains calm when meeting new people. Wesley's new family should keep a few things in mind: - He can be tested with cats. - He gets along with children of all ages, but a meet and greet is wise since he can be a bit nippy during play. - He pulls on the leash but improves with a front pull harness. - Supervise him during introductions to other dogs as he likes to play a little rough. - He tends to get nippy (often at pant legs) when overly excited. Wesley has a strong desire to please and combines playful energy with calming protectiveness for his loved ones.
